Barbara Cegavske For Nevada Secretary of State

Thank you for visiting my website.  I am humbled by the support and encouragement I have received in my quest to become the next Secretary of State in Nevada. There are many reasons I have elected to run for this office.

Main Goals & Priorities
One of my main goals is to ensure the integrity of elections in Nevada. It is one of the fundamental tenets of our state and federal constitution in which we all believe. I strongly support and encourage the active participation of all the citizens of Nevada to exercise their right to vote. Nevada voters deserve assurance that the manner in which their elections are conducted and in which the votes are counted, is above reproach. I will endeavor to provide that assurance.

Another of my priorities will be to establish Nevada as the best state in which to conduct business. It is imperative we attract diverse and state-of-the-art industries to our great state. Toward that end, I pledge to encourage the creation of new businesses and jobs in Nevada by ensuring the cost of doing business is fair, reasonable, and competitive with other states.

Working on Behalf of Nevadans
I am most proud of my work in the State Assembly and Senate on behalf of families and businesses in our state. As your Secretary of State, I will guarantee the office will focus on ways to improve business development so our families prosper and our business environment flourishes.

My 18 years of legislative experience, especially chairing the Senate Legislative Operations and Election Committee and my first hand knowledge as a former business owner, uniquely qualify me to successfully execute the duties and responsibilities of Secretary of State.

From 1996 through the present day, I served 6 years in Nevada’s Assembly followed by 12 years in the State Senate. During my tenure in the Assembly, I held numerous legislative leadership positions including Assistant Assembly Minority Whip (1997) and Assistant Minority Leader (1999 – 2001). While serving my three terms in the State Senate, I also led as Senate Minority Whip (2009) and Assistant Senate Minority Leader (2011).

It is my honor and privilege to represent the residents of Senate District 8 since 2002 and in Assembly District 5 prior to that. I believe my integrity and honesty have earned the trust and respect from the residents of all political persuasions.

It will be my honor and privilege to serve as your next Secretary of State. I pledge to follow the Constitutions of the United States and Nevada when administering the duties of Secretary of State.

Cegavske: My campaign is about investing in Nevada

I am humbled that the voters of Assembly District 5 and Senate District 8 have elected me to represent them in Carson City for the last18 years. It's been an honor and a privilege, and I hope you'll consider my campaign for secretary of state.

The office consists of eight divisions. My focus in this letter will be the business and elections aspects. It is my goal to make Nevada the premier state in the country to do business, because more businesses means more jobs.
